Therapeutic Recreation
The Therapeutic Recreation Department at Mount Olivet Homes is dedicated to offering a wide variety of structured programs for our residents, both within the facility and out in the community. These programs are thoughtfully designed to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and social needs of all residents.

Program Highlights:
- Community outings to restaurants, zoos, museums, the Arboretum, the State Fair, and boat rides in Stillwater.
- In-house events, including monthly birthday parties, themed celebrations (e.g., State Fair, Reindeer Visit, Lutefisk Dinner), resident and family Christmas parties, and chapel-based bingo, including themed sessions.
Mount Olivet residents also benefit from innovative technology like Rendever virtual reality equipment, which is part of a PIPP program focused on enhancing residents’ quality of life. This initiative has gained national attention, with some of our recent events, such as those featuring Rendever and the State Fair, making headlines.

Social Services
The Social Services Department at Mount Olivet is comprised of five licensed social workers, certified by the Minnesota Board of Social Work. Each member of our team holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and has a special interest and extensive experience working with seniors in long-term care settings.
At Mount Olivet Careview Home, every resident is paired with their own dedicated social worker. This personalized support ensures that residents and their families are guided through every step of the admission process and the transition to their new home. Our social workers are committed to fostering an optimal level of social, emotional, and psychosocial well-being for all residents and their families.

Spiritual Care
Spiritual Care at Mount Olivet Home and Mount Olivet Careview Home focuses on healing, wholeness, and well-being by offering an interfaith ministry that supports the values and beliefs of residents, patients, families, volunteers, and staff. As part of the interdisciplinary care team, our chaplain addresses the spiritual dimensions of human life—helping individuals and communities find meaning, purpose, and connection to the present moment, self, others, nature, and the sacred.
A Chaplain is available to residents, their loved ones, and staff during times of vulnerability. They provide compassionate listening, reconnect individuals with sources of strength and meaning, and offer transformation through prayer, rituals, and worship services.
Spiritual Programming
We offer a variety of spiritual experiences throughout our facility to nurture the faith and well-being of all participants, including:
- Bible studies and devotional gatherings.
- Sacraments and pastoral lay visits.
- Seasonal religious programs and worship services.
Weekly Worship Services
All are welcome to join our worship services held in the Lund Chapel:
- Sundays: 10:00 a.m.
- Wednesdays: 10:00 a.m., Service of Holy Communion
- Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m., Catholic Rosary Service (Mass offered once a month)
