In the early 20th century, tuberculosis was the leading cause of death in the United States. Physicians were experiencing the first signs of success treating tuberculosis in special hospitals called sanitoriums, and one of those facilities had fallen on tough times. The tiny Delaware sanitorium would have to close its doors if $300 could not be raised to save it. One of its doctors explained the plight to his cousin, a volunteer named Emily Bissell.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 13 Mount Olivet Careview Home was recognized in the StarTribune.com top workplaces 2023, and on Sunday, June 18, we were recognized in the Star Tribune special section “Top Workplaces 2023.”

The evaluation for the Top Workplaces program is based upon feedback from an employee survey that was sent to our employees a few months ago. We had almost 200 staff complete the survey.

Over 5,000 organizations were invited to participate in the survey, and more than 124,719 employees

• Have photos, blankets, and other familiar items in their room
