In December of 2008, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) out of the federal government enhanced its Nursing Home Compare public reporting site to include a set of quality star ratings for each nursing home that participates in Medicare or Medicaid. The Nursing Home Compare Five-Star Quality Rating System provides residents and their families with an easy to understand summary of three dimensions of nursing home quality: health inspection results, staffing data, and quality measure data. The goal of the rating system is to help consumers make meaningful distinctions among high and low performing nursing homes.
Mount Olivet Home and Mount Olivet Careview Home are proud to be recognized as 5 Star Quality nursing homes as defined by CMS.

U.S. News just published the 2021-22 Best Nursing Homes ratings, Mount Olivet Home and Mount Olivet Careview Home are among the elite 13% that earned “High Performing” status. Best Nursing Homes ratings are based on U.S. News’s in-depth analysis of publicly available data, including information that is not factored into CMS’s star ratings. Unlike the star ratings, the U.S. News ratings recognize that patients undergoing relatively short-term rehabilitation have very different needs from those who require longer-term care.
This year’s ratings include some new requirements for a home to earn a High-Performing rating – most notably that federal CMS data published by October 14 must list the home as having a COVID-19 staff-vaccination rate of at least 75%.
As a result, of more than 15,000 U.S. skilled-nursing facilities evaluated by U.S. News, barely 2,000 earned even a single High-Performing rating. Some additional homes may subsequently be upgraded to High Performing if they end up meeting the staff-vaccination threshold.
The home earned Best Nursing Homes status by achieving a rating of "High Performing," the highest possible rating, for both long term and short term rehabilitation care. U.S. News gives the designation of Best Nursing Home only to those homes who satisfy U.S. News's assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures.
